Anime Superhero…Where You At?

For those who don’t know, the Anime Superhero Forums (animesuperhero.com), which both Damon and I are members of, has been down for repairs since February 3rd, and it’s now March 23rd and the site still hasn’t been fixed yet. The forum’s moderators have assured us that the site will return, but no one can say exactly when.

However, someone has since created a temporary AS forum that can be used while we’re waiting for the real one to return. animesuperherotemp.freeforums.net.

Neither of us have created an account there yet (Honestly, I don’t know if it’s worth it), but in the meantime, we’re both still here of course, and also are still on Tumblr. If you’re missing the Anime Superhero Forums, you can visit the temporary AS site. You know, if you feel like it.

  1. I find it interesting how Candi Milo is returning to voice Granny and Witch Hazel (Ms. Milo has become the new VA for Granny after June Foray’s passing) but isn’t reprising her role as Sweetie. Perhaps this show’s producers are going in a slightly different direction for the character and a specific voice actress in mind for her.

Also curious: no mention of who will be voicing Lola Bunny in TTL. We know that she’s in it because we saw a clip of Lola in the trailer.

As was revealed earlier, Buster and Babs are siblings this time around (twins, in fact). Some folks on the Anime Superhero Forum aren’t happy about this change. One member in particular, when they found out that I was neither shocked nor horrified by this creative decision, proceeded to explain to me at length why this is a bad idea, as if I could do something about it. You may or may not like the idea of Babs and Buster being twin siblings, but it’s WB’s show and their characters, they can do whatever they want with them. If the twin thing is really a deal-breaker for you, then just don’t watch the new show. Since I don’t ship characters, this doesn’t bother me personally. I can’t hate the idea of twin characters, since I am one myself. I’m curious to see how their relationship will play out here.

    1. What’s also interesting to note that the new voice actor for Sweetie Bird will be played by a former Disney Channel star, Tessa Netting. Which is very interesting considering that I heard that she wanted to become a voice actor after she worked on BUNK’D. Yeah, I wish her the best of luck on her new career(including everyone on TTL)

Though, I’m not really sure who is gonna be Lola in Looniversity. My guess is either A) the current VA of Lola in Bugs Bunny Builders or B) probably Kath Soucie, but I don’t know. Who’s to say?

Yeah, I remember the time when the members from the Anime Superhero Forums have lost their minds over the fact that Buster and Babs Bunny are twins instead of friends in the original. I still stand by the fact that I don’t give a shit if Buster and Babs are twins in the reboot, as long they’re well written (then again, I’m not in the target audience for this show anyway), but the fact these members treat this nothing-burger change as if they shot their mother is fucking wild to me.

I’ll never forget the time when there is one (infamous) member on ASF, which I’m not gonna say who it is because I don’t want anybody to go harass this guy, but there is one member trying to justify their reasons as to why Buster and Babs being twins is a bad thing and WB should listen to their fans. All I can do is just shaking my head with so much cringe, and think to myself, ” OMG, get the fuck over yourself. People like them are the reasons why Teen Titans Go lasted for about 10 years”.

Instead of doing the most common sense thing as don’t watch the show, they kept bitching and complaining as if Looniversity ruined their childhoods. Didn’t these people realize that more you complain about the show, the more it gets free publicity? I’m just saying. There are casual people who never watch Tiny Toons but heard rants about it from people on the internet, it’s going to get the casuals curious to see what’s all the fuss is about. So honestly, these members who are being emotionally tethered towards Looniversity are playing on WB’s free marketing.

Sorry if I came out as a broken record, but what else can we say about this? If this silly little kids cartoon really affected you so much, how about just don’t watch the fucking show? I don’t understand how it’s so difficult for these people. If you don’t like this change, fine, but bitching and moaning is not going to change anything. Point blank. End of story.

I wish I could go on about this, but you already know about this whole clown show. Let’s just move on.

-See also the dim-bulbs currently pissing themselves over Disney’s Primos, especially since all we’ve seen of the dern thing so far is the intro. By bitching and moaning and whining and making all these hate videos and mean-spirited parodies about this show, all they’re doing is ensuring it gets more eyeballs looking at it then it ever would’ve gotten on its’ own. These morons are a better PR team than Disney could’ve paid for themselves. For all the noise being made about the show right now, when it finally premieres people will just see it as a fairly standard Loud House clone and let it simply run its’ course. If a show isn’t to your liking, you always have the option of, you know, just not watching it.

Also, call me stupid, crazy, tone-deaf or whatever, but I kind of like the show’s theme. It’s one of those innocuous little tunes that gets stuck in your head if you hear it enough times.

    Liked by 2 people

    1. Yeah, Primos is also a good example as well.

You know, it’s funny because, I was originally going to talk about this controversy to you guys, but I put off on it because the whole backlash against Primos has spooked me for the past week that it does give me Loud House PTSD, so I had no choice but to stay away from it.

I can somewhat understand people were put off by the negative stereotypes, but I’m not going to judge Primos just for that until I see show when it officially comes out. For all we know, this show could be a decent alternative to The Casagrandes.

But yeah, the mean spirited parodies and hate videos about this show did pop up on my YouTube recommendation homepage every so often that it does get very annoying for me, so I just ignore them and don’t give these idiots any view. All these people going to do is giving this show more free publicity than it already is. Similar to Tiny Toons Looniversity, raising a stink about Primos is going to get other people curious to see what all the fuss is about. I wouldn’t be surprised if the show comes out, people will see it as typical Loud House, and realized they made a big deal out of nothing.

BTW, I don’t hate the show’s theme song. It does screams Loud House in terms of its tone, but it wasn’t that bad to me. Like I said, I’m not going to judge this show until it comes out, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

      1. On a semi-related note, I am so sick of getting clickbait-y news articles recommended to me written by far-right losers trying to blame Disney and Pixar’s recent failures at the box office on “wokeness”. That is complete and utter horseshit! The live action The Little Mermaid remake and Elemental didn’t bomb because “people are sick of diversity”, OK? If that were true, then Spider Man: Across the Spiderverse would have underperformed also, but that film had a diverse cast, and it was the exact opposite of a bomb.

No, the reason why Elemental and the recent remakes of Little Mermaid and Peter Pan failed is because people are just tired of these kinds of movies. Friends and colleagues all said that they were going to skip Elemental in theaters because it wasn’t anything that they hadn’t seen before. Some of them did say that they might watch the movie when it comes to Disney+, which goes back to something I said when I read an article about Elemental; that the story might have worked better as a short or a half hour special, not a theatrical released movie. Make a movie that tells and original strory that folks haven’t seen a hundred times before, and they’ll come back to the theaters. But seriously, shut the hell up with all the anti-woke garbage. It’s tired, guys. No one besides you cares about that crap anymore. To all of my white friends out there: you’re cool, but you’re not the only people. Black and brown people want to be represented in fiction also. People of color aren’t going anywhere, and that includes movies and TV shows. Diversity isn’t a fad that’s going to go away after a while. It’s here to stay. This is just something that you have to accept.

  4. To Goldstar.

I agree. I always rolled my eyes every time when these people make these dumbass clickbait-y titles of movies like The Little Mermaid being “woke” or whatever. It’s like, get the fuck out of here! If these nut-jobs had a serious problem of having a person of color playing a fictional character, then they’re fucking racist. Plain and simple.

Anyways, I think the reason why the Little Mermaid remake and Pixar’s Elemental has not been doing very well is because ever since Disney Plus was a thing, a lot of people were conditioned of not interested in seeing these movies in theaters and just watching them on streaming. I also heard the Elemental was a mixed bag at best, and you do bring up a good point that Elemental works better as a short than as a full length film. That, and the fact that Elemental’s budget was $200 million, you could see why it was flopped.

But yeah, the clickbait-y nonsense has got to stop.

  5. I have an idea for a free streaming channel over YT and Twitch, and maybe a website as well. The niche for this service is animation- either public domain classics or shorts with a Creative Commons license, that way I can use them for free. The format for every day except Sunday is a six hour daily “loop” of animated shorts that airs four times each day, with a mix of theatrical shorts, TV cartoons, and indie web stuff. Sundays is different, being an all-day marathon dedicated to either a certain cartoon character or filmmaker, taking advantage of their public domain or Creative Commons works, and looping that all day. The service is targeted primarily towards adults, mainly cartoon lovers, instead of children or families. Honestly, my- lofty- personal goal for this potential service is to be like TCM, but for animation instead of classic film. Again, lofty goal, I know. What do you think?

    1. Well, I know that my Twitter account isn’t affected because I never had one. Twitter was a right-wing cesspool before Musky took it over, and it hasn’t gotten any better, based on what I’ve heard.

Quite frankly, if you’re reading more than 600 tweets a day, you need to make better use of your time.

      1. I haven’t heard about this until this morning, and I did some research and read the article referencing on what you are talking about:

        https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/thousands-users-report-problems-accessing-twitter-met-rate-limit-excee-rcna92188

Honestly, I can’t really I’m surprised. I heard this issue is temporarily, so it’s not permanent, but that doesn’t the change the fact that this an another example of Twitter has gotten SO much worse as time goes on.

Keep in mind, I absolutely DESPISE Twitter with a burning passion, and I stopped using that site years ago because of how much of a toxic dumpster fire it was. If anything, Twitter’s reputation was already bad from the start. It just when Elon Musk took over, it was digging it Six Feet Under.

There’s DEFINITELY going to be an SAG strike as well as the WGA strike. And to the DGA, who decided to make a deal with the studios… who are you supposed to direct at this point?

    1. Sounds like to me that this quote just show Hollywood doesn’t a fuck about you. They just give the double middle fingers to all the writers, actors and actresses, child actors, and content creators, and animators to the masses who have been working their asses off for giving us great content for people to enjoy, only for their work to be removed, their residuals being short-changed, and going as far as to destroy their livelihoods. All for the purpose of getting a quick buck.

Oh, here’s another kicker for me. I just read a Deadline article today about a guy who left being a diversity executive in Hollywood, and he left some pretty damning stuff.

      https://deadline.com/2023/07/john-ridley-diversity-exec-exits-spark-fear-hollywood-pledges-just-pr-1235436184/

After reading this, it does seems like to me that shows Hollywood’s true colors by being so incredibly two-faced by pretending to care about diversity and minorities (when in reality, they purposely to get your dollars), but always get people of color the short end of the stick and less opportunities. As someone who is person of color(and on the spectrum), that really upsets me.

You know, I first thought that 2022 was the worst year for the entertainment industry, but nope. I was wrong. 2023 is where they taking things to a whole new freaking level. We got the writers strike, box office bombs, oversaturated content, franchise fatigue, AI, massive cutbacks and layoffs. It’s so out of control.

Also, remember the 07 writers strike in which they left a lot of scripted projects being cancelled in favor of reality shows? Well, 15 years later, we are doing it again!

      https://deadline.com/2023/07/fox-fall-2023-schedule-1235434478/

I gotta say this right now, we are just hours away of the SAG-AFTRA deal being expired and if the AMPTP didn’t work out the deal, then this will be the final nail the coffin for Hollywood right now. The actors goes on strike and without the actors, there will be not film festivals appearances, no Comic Con panels, NOTHING! All the actors will be out of the job all thanks to these out of touch boomers cared about corporate greed.

      https://deadline.com/2023/06/hollywood-actors-strike-what-will-happen-sag-aftra-contract-1235427558/

Man, this is not a good time for the entertainment industry at this point.

      Like

  7. That’s not going to happen. The AMPTP is bluffing. This is just studio propaganda.

Here’s the Cliff notes version: Hollywood companies live or die on their quarterly earnings reports. One bad quarter causes their stock prices to plunge, putting theirs and CEO’s jobs in jeopardy.

Stock prices are holding steady for now, because the TV shows and movies airing now were made 4-12 quarters ago. Eventually, however, they’re going to run out of product. No new shows to bring in ad revenue, no new streaming shows to bring in subscribers. No shows = no money = bad earnings report. Bad report = adios stock price, adios CEO.

The pipeline is running dry. They can’t rely on reality, competition and prank shows forever. The AMPTP bosses would love to break the union, but they love their jobs and money more, and they can’t make that money without talent. They’re talking tough now, but the longer they hold out, the harder it’s going to be for them to rush new stuff through, and they know this.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Okay, you do got a very good point. AMPTP knows what’s going on. If they really love their job so much and they want to keep their job, how about struck a fair deal with the writers and the actors guilds and paid these people fairly because when it comes to residuals on streaming, they get paid less compared when they get paid when a show airs on TV, which is way more.

Like I said, if the actors does goes on strike, it’s over. Okay, to be fair, I’m sure the Hollywood studios will be fine through other means like Disney and Universal with their theme parks. However, when it comes to the entertainment side, it’s gonna hurt them a little bit.

Once the actors goes on strike alongside with the writers, all productions will be shut down. And without the actors, there will be no show to film. Without the show, there will be no money from the company.

I agree that they cannot rely on reality shows forever, So AMPTP has to think fast before its too late. Clock is ticking.

    https://deadline.com/2023/07/actors-strike-contract-talks-fail-sag-aftra-to-launch-pickets-1235436031/

The SAG-AFTRA Guild is now officially goes on strike as the AMPTP failed to reach the deal. This will be the first time the actors goes on strike since 1980 and joining along with the writers since 1960.

Also, there will be films and TV projects be impacted by the strike, not just domestically, but globally as well.

    https://deadline.com/2023/07/sag-strike-wga-film-tv-international-productions-studios-list-picket-1235436851/

BTW, I loved when AMPTP trying to pin the blame on the actors for failing to reach the deal when they are the ones completely misses the point on what the actors goes against; AI and getting paid less when their projects airs on streaming. Talk about gaslighting.

    At this point, fuck Hollywood.

  9. I know preschool shows don’t get talked about much, but I want to talk about two shows that look really cute.

    1. The first is a DreamWorks show called Dew Drop Diaries. It’s about a trio of three inch fairies called Dew Drops and named Eden, Athena, and Phoebe. In a similar vein to another DreamWorks preschool show (Team Zenko Go), these fairies try to secretly help out people. The show has a pretty stacked voice cast, including Scarlett Estevez (If You Give A Mouse A Cookie), Viviann Yee (Vampirina), and Sydney Mikayla (Craig Of The Creek, Transformers EarthSpark, Kipo And The Age Of The Wonder Beasts). It’s kind of surprising how both Bill Farmer and Bob Bergen are in the show since they’ve never been in DreamWorks projects before.

    https://www.animationmagazine.net/2023/06/dreamworks-dew-drop-diaries-bring-pre-k-fairy-magic-to-netflix/

    2. The other show to talk about is Jessica’s Big Little World, the Cartoonito spinoff to Craig Of The Creek, at least I think. When the show was first announced, it was said to be for Cartoonito. Now it seems like it’ll be on regular Cartoon Network despite still airing as a preschool show in other places (like airing on the Canadian preschool channel Treehouse TV).

    1. Well, first, nice hearing from you again; it’s been a while.😊

Now, onto the subjects at hand: a YouTuber we follow, Dave Lee Down Under, briefly mentioned Dew Drop Fairies in a recent preview vid. I don’t know how much of it I’ll personally watch, but it looks cute; I get some mild Trolls vibes from it, probably since it’s also from Dreamworks.

As for Jessica’s Big Little World, near as I can figure, WBD might be hoping that the show will attract the same audience as Craig of the Creek and that will be more easily accomplished during CN hours…I guess, even though the show will be airing on Cartoonito outside the US.

Apart from this and recently hearing that Checkered Past is now going to be 2 hours instead of 1 and it’s being advertised on both CN and [adult swim], I’m truly beginning to believe that these guys at CN US really don’t know what they’re doing and are just making shite up as they go along. If they’re going to continue blurring the lines between their various branding hours, then why have the separate sections at all? Why not just pull a Disney X-D and just call the whole dang channel Cartoon Network again?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Because technically CN is a “kids” channel and can’t air as many ads on their shows as an “adult” channel like AS. That’s why they’re moving the shows and putting Checkered Past on AS.

Too bad they didn’t account for AfterToons on Nick and Simpsons on FXX.

  10. So the theme song to Tiny Toons Looniversity came out a few days ago. I’m not sure if I’ll check it, but I do have some thoughts about the show based on what’s been shown.

    1. When the cast was first announced, it was said that David Errigo Jr would voice both Plucky and Hamton. Though mostly an anime voice actor, he’s done roles in western animation. He’s voiced Dudley in the Netflix Jr show Ridley Jones and replaced Thomas Brodie Sangster as Ferb from Phineas And Ferb starting in 2019. I bring this up since the few bits of Plucky we hear in the intro sound similar to his Dudley voice.

    2. It seems like the university will be given more emphasis in this show given how we see more of it and the surrounding areas in the show.

    3. Related to my last point, I remember a criticism of the original show in how, despite being set in a college, the show was more like a middle school show with middle school characters. The characters do look older here, but more like high schoolers.

    Like

    1. Yeah, Tiny Toons Looniversity definitely appears to be more academia focused than the previous series. If that “Looniversity” being in the show’s title wasn’t enough of a tipoff, there’s the fact that Acme Acres was never once mentioned in the opening theme song. Also, the Looniversity seems to be set up more like a college than before, with characters having dorm rooms and living on campus.

As previously noted, Babs and Buster are going to be twin siblings this time around, so they won’t be saying “No relation” anymore after they introduce themselves. I know that some fans of the original Tiny Toon Adventures aren’t happy about this change, but it’s WB/Ambln’s show and ultimately it’s their decision. To anyone who prefers the original TTA, I say just watch that one. The point of TTL is to introduce the Tiny Toons characters to a new audience. This show is a reboot rather than a sequel, and as such, it doesn’t appear to be a nostalgia trip.

Contrary to what was reported previously, Elmyra will indeed be a returning character, and will again be voiced by Cree Summer. However, according to an article that I read, Elmyra won’t be a student nor a member of the faculty. Interesting.

Finally, it looks as though the show’s main characters will be Buster, Babs, Hamton, Plucky and Sweetie, who’s character seems to have gotten an upgrade since last time and will be doing more than just avoiding being eaten by Furrball. Coincidentally (or perhaps not coincidentally), the heir apparent to these characters is the same principle characters as on Bugs Bunny Builders; Bugs, Lola, Porky, Daffy and Tweety.

  11. 1. So The Patrick Star Show is a show that, at best, is tolerable but mediocre. However, a recent episode came out called Bubble Bass Reviews, and is an actually good episode. The episode is about Bubble Bass creating his own show called Bubble Bass Reviews, where he critiques everything wrong with The Patrick Star Show. He’s even wearing a outfit that looks similar to The Nostalgia Critic. It’s an episode that definitely looks at the more toxic sides to fandoms, but I never think it’s done in poor taste. I particularly like the ending, where Patrick and Squidina come over and say that that they actually like his show. They even do a positive commentary on his critiques. You can watch the video below to see more of what the episode is about.

    2. So the final batch of Looney Tunes Cartoons episodes is coming out today. According to showrunner Pete Browngardt, there are a handful of shorts that were considered too extreme for Max.

    1. 1. Never seen The Patrick Star Show, and I have no interest in seeing it at all, but from your description, it sounds pretty interesting.

It kinda reminds me of MLP Season 7 episode, Fame and Misfortune. However, unlike MLP in which that episode is more on laughing at the critics more so than laughing with them at the expense of the main characters, Patrick Star Show did the opposite, and in way wasn’t mean-spirted. So, I give them points for that.

      2. Oh really? I’m legitimately curious if those Looney Tunes Cartoons shorts were considered “too extreme” to be aired on Max.

  12. On March 4, Scooby Doo And Krypto Too leaked online. For many, it was assumed that it was written off for tax purposes given how Scoob: Haunted Holiday Haunt and Scooby Doo And The Mystery Pups were no longer moving forward with production. Well, we see that this is not the case since the movie is getting an official release on September 26.

      1. Krypto here has the same physical design as he did in the Cartoon Network series Krypto: the Superdog, which was of course, produced by Hanna-Barbera. However, unlike in that series, apparently Krypto doesn’t talk here. You would think that at least his barks would sound like English when he’s talking to Scooby, a fellow dog.

      2. According to the movie’s writer Tim Sheridan (who’s worked on various DC and Scooby projects), the movie was apparently always going to be released in fall. I’m guessing he was under NDA to not say anything. Though, and I fully admit having seen the movie already, it seems like the wrong credit put for the movie since the intro says it says it was written by TK O’Brian, but that’s not the case.

  13. https://www.animationmagazine.net/2023/07/dew-drop-diaries-producers-introduce-use-to-dreamworks-new-fairies-on-the-block/

I have plenty of thoughts on Dew Drop Diaries, the preschool DreamWorks cartoon that came out a few days ago.

    1. Among the three DreamWorks shows not based on an established property (the other two being The Mighty Ones and Gabby’s Dollhouse, the latter also being a preschool show like this one), I call this the best for one reason, character. The show has a well defined main cast with characters that have their own strengths and weaknesses. Eden is a Dew Drop who’s incredibly kind and nurturing, especially with how she likes baking and animals, but can get a little naive at times. Athena is incredibly strong and determined even if she can be a bit impulsive with how she uses her strength. Phoebe is great with music and inventions even if she tends to like things a certain way.

    2. In this interview with series creator Rick Suvalle, he said how he has two daughters who have diabetes, and created the show to show how kids can still do what they set their mind to regardless. I think this idea of being able to do good even with your disadvantages really applies to the show. Dew Drops, unlike regular fairies, can’t fly. As such, they have to use quick thinking and ingenuity to make their way around the city. The Dew Alerts can contact other dew drops, but as seen in episodes like “Flying Solo”, they have to be in the vicinity.

    3. In the 2006 Curious George series, Frank Welker voices George and other characters. Of course, he doesn’t voice all the animals. The show has a wide variety of voice actors to do animal sounds, some expected like Dee Bradley Baker and Fred Tatasciore, others more unexpected like Jim Cummings, Debi Derryberry, Lex Lang, and Rob Paulsen, and yet they all do good. I bring it up since the animal casting is similar here. Dee Bradley Baker is part of the cast, but he doesn’t voice all of the animals. Some like Bob Bergen (Porky Pig) and Bill Farmer (Goofy and Pluto) voice animals in the show even though it’s not what they normally do. Even Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, the show’s voice director, and executive producer Aliki Theofouloupus Grafft, get a crack at this. They all do really well.

    4. It’s not specifically about the show, but I think that DreamWorks could stand alongside Disney Junior, Nick Jr, and PBS Kids in the preschool market with the various shows they’ve made over the past 4 years. They’re certainly better than what’s happening with Cartoonito at the moment.

  14. https://wdwnt.com/2023/07/disney-junior-friends-celebration-coming-to-disneyland-resort-next-month/

Sometime ago, it was announced that there would be a Winnie The Pooh shorts show for Disney Junior called Playdate With Winnie The Pooh. Barring a guest appearance on Doc McStuffins, this will be the first time Winnie The Pooh has had a television presence since My Friends Tigger And Pooh ended back in 2010. It makes me wonder if this could lead to a full on Winnie The Pooh show coming to Disney Junior in the near future. It seems like these shorts would be a way to reintroduce the franchise to younger viewers, much like how the Marvel Superhero Adventures shorts and Star Wars: Galactic Creatures shorts acted as a gateway to introduce kids to the respective franchises before Spidey And His Amazing Friends and Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures came out. It can also be seen as an attempt to market the franchise to younger viewers again, much like with the Disney Toon Studios movies and Playhouse Disney shows of the late 1990s and 2000s. This kind of event is similar to the Disney Junior Fun Fest from last year, which had a lot of announcements for currently airing, upcoming, and newly revealed shows. I think this could happen here.

  15. According to Will Finn, who’s worked on a few Tom And Jerry projects like the 2014 Tom And Jerry Show and both 2022 DVD movies, the preschool show Tom And Jerry Time is cancelled. He mentioned it on Instagram, so someone screenshot it.

    1. Yep. Damon (Silverstar) reported this news back on July 26 in “Getting a Little Looney”. Unfortunate, but true. No reason was given as to why it was canceled, but most likely it was a cost cutting measure. Either that or WBD has little confidence in Cartoonito these days. My personal belief is that Cartoonito U.S. was Tom Aschiem’s baby and Michael Ouleween doesn’t share Mr. Ascheim’s enthusiasm for the block. In any case, I feel for the people who’ve been working on Tom and Jerry Time for the last 2 years and now have nothing to show for it. That darn Zaslav! If there are any complete segments of T&JTime, perhaps WB will release it on Max. Seems unlikely, but anything’s possible.

This weekend has the Disney Junior Playdate event, which is basically about all things Disney Junior. It mentions voice casts for the previously announced Ariel and RoboGobo series, Halloween specials for currently airing shows like Pupstruction and Superkitties, a Halloween stop motion Mickey special, and weirdly enough, bringing back Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Yeah, I know has a lot of views on YouTube and kids still watch the show to this day, but Mickey Mouse Funhouse already does the general idea of the series for a new audience. At least this adds a bear.

  17. I’m not sure if there’s legal reasons for it or anything, though I do wonder why none of the Netflix Nickelodeon projects (such as The Loud House Movie, Glitch Techs, and more) have aired on television, and yet Gabby’s Dollhouse (a Dreamworks preschool show on Netflix) currently has a regular rerun schedule on the Nick Jr channel. It even briefly aired on the Nick Jr block on Nickelodeon in early June. I mean, many of the Nickelodeon projects from Paramount Plus have aired on Nickelodeon at some point.

Something I find interesting about this upcoming Dreamworks Land is that Gabby’s Dollhouse is being represented. As far as I can tell, it’s the only Dreamworks TV show being represented in the parks while everything else is from the movies. Given how it’s been running for over 2 and a half years, and has merchandise like Lego sets, it’s no surprise.

    1. Also, many of the DreamWorks TV shows are based on movies or classic characters. The only notable original TV IP, outside of Gabby, is the Arcadia trilogy (Trollhunters, 3 Below, Wizards).

      1. Technically, the Trollhunters franchise is based on an established property, albeit a book instead of a movie. Therefore, Gabby’s Dollhouse is still the one TV show not based on anything to be represented here.
