One of the more memorable features of the 1980’s (aside from the cartoons which were essentially just 30-minute toy commercials, jam shorts and those skinny neck ties) was how cracker barrel crazy their video game ads were. As this ad shows us, if you were a corporate stiff who was against fun and exciting things, you ran the risk of incurring the wrath of the video game gods. Enjoy this spot for Pole Position from 1983.

2 Funny: Ice Skating with Kaptain Kool & the Kongs
Remember The Krofft Supershow? Of course you don’t. For those who don’t (and the 2 of you who do), The Krofft Supershow was a SatAM compilation of shows from Sid & Marty Krofft (of H.R. Pufenstuff fame), hosting by faux glam-rock band Kaptain Kool & the Kongs (Superchick, Turkey, Nashville and Flatbush) who performed songs and jokey-joke skits between the rotating segments. Today we present…one of them. Enjoy “Ice Skating”.
I guess the ice really was too slick, Rick.
2 Funny: Vintage Nesbitt’s Orange Soda Commercial
Here’s an old spot for Nesbitt’s orange soda, hailing from the ancient 1970’s. It’s a bit silly, but we’re big on silly here. Enjoy.
Dumb!
2 Funny: KFC Commercial Starring “Colonel Sanders”
Today’s 2 Funny is from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)’s current advertising campaign starring a faux Colonel Sanders. Actually, it’s former Saturday Night Live cast member Darrel Hammond. Some people have been complaining that these commercials are in some way racist, but I’ve seen them, and I don’t that these ads portray a negative image of fast restaurant mascots at all.
That “big ol’ cookie” line cracks me up every time!
