Today’s Toons & Tunes comes to us courtesy of Spumco Productions. This is a song that was played for a short on The Ren & Stimpy Show in which Stimpy goes on a psychadelic journey inside his own bellybutton….Sure, why not. It makes about as much sense as anything else that’s happened on this show. I’m not a huge Ren & Stimpy fan, but I’ve always enjoyed this trippy tune. Enjoy “Climb Inside My World”.

Talkin’ Nerdy: How Deep Are Polly’s Pockets?
For a moment, let’s talk about Polly Pocket.
For those who don’t know, Polly Pocket is a toy line of dolls and accessories. The name comes from the fact that many of the original Polly Pocket dolls came in pocket-size cases. The current Fashion Polly dolls sold by Mattel differ significantly from those originally sold by Bluebird Toys. The original Bluebird dolls were less than one inch tall and made of hard plastic. Mattel’s versions are two to three inches tall and are composed of a pliable plastic with soft rubberized clothing and fashion accessories.
Currently, Polly Pocket has been re-designed by Mattel 1998. The new doll is larger and has a more lifelike appearance than the original dolls. That same year, Mattel also introduced Fashion Polly!, which used the same characters from the new Polly Pocket (Polly, Lea, Shani, Lila, etc.), but they came in the form of 3 3⁄4 inches (9.5 cm) plastic jointed dolls. Since then, Fashion Polly has appeared in a number of webtoons. Incidentally, if you plan to “binge watch” these Fashion Polly! shorts, I don’t recommend having a drinking game where you take a shot whenever a character says “Best. Day. Ever.”; you’ll be too drunk to find the floor with both hands.
This got me thinking: Is Polly Pocket rich?

Dolla Dolla Bill, y’all!
Her official bio only describes the character as being “very confident, cool, friendly, optimistic, adventurous, resourceful, and loyal. She loves having fun, adventures, and, importantly, friends. She has many hobbies, such as roller-skating, water-skiing, snowboarding, shopping, playing music, and singing. Polly has a fun-and-cool fashion style.” But think about it, Polly has a lot of stuff (including a huge house with her initial printed all over it) and indulges in a lot of different hobbies. How is she paying for all of her nifty things? Plus, the name of the town in which Polly and her friends reside is named “Pollyville”. I doubt that’s a coincidence. I have a personal theory about the current Polly Pocket. That means that it’s time for some…
GROUNDLESS. VIEWER. SPECULATION.
My theory is that Polly Pocket is an heiress. Her parents/family are incredibly wealthy land owners, hence why Polly has a town named after her and doesn’t need to work. She gets bored easily, so she frequently indulges on whatever hobby or interest that she’s grooving on at that particular moment, and she’s able to do all of this on a whim due to her having near unlimited money and resources at her disposal. Think Richie Rich but with a cute chick. This has been…
GROUNDLESS. VIEWER. SPECULATION.
In any case, the Polly Pocket toys seems to still be selling very well under Mattel’s moniker, and the franchise isn’t showing signs of slowing down. The Polly Pocket toys seem to be popular with girls.
Cartoon Country: The Powerpuff Girls in “Nuthin’ Special”
In this installment of Cartoon Country, we’ll be looking at a short featured on Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls titled “Nuthin’ Special”. This is a short that I particularly like because it focuses on my favorite Powerpuff Girl, Buttercup. This short is from PPG’s third season, so by this time it’s already been established that in addition to the collective super powers that all 3 of the girls possess such as super strength, flight, super speed and laser vision, that Blossom has the power of ice breath (which first manifested in the short “Ice Sore” ) and Bubbles has the ability to communicate with animals and easily understand and speak foreign languages. So in this short, PPG’s writers finally address a question that no doubt many of the shows’ fans have also been asking during this time: What’s Buttercup’s individual super power? Does she even have one? Well, that question is finally answered in this short, which I’ll now show in it’s entirety:
Amusing, but here’s the thing, though; Buttercup already had a special power! We saw her fire green energy blasts from her hands all the way back in season 1 in the short “Octi Evil”, and she does this again in season 3’s “Nano of the North”. That could easily have been Buttercup’s special power. One of the things that Buttercup does in this short is engulf herself in green flames that don’t burn her, which we’ve already seen her do in the short “Super Zeroes”. However, in this short, we discover that Blossom and Bubbles can do this too (with their flames being their own colors, pink and blue, respectively), even though they don’t do this in any other episode besides this one. In fact, the girls boast a number of super powers here that they don’t use at any other point in the series, such as the ability to create multiples of themselves and the ability to shrink to tiny size. On that topic,…
…If the Powerpuff Girls have the ability to shrink, then why did they need Professor Utonium’s machine to shrink them in “Nano of the North”? Anyway, the writers actually acknowledging these details would actually ruin the punch line, and all nitpicks aside, “Nuthin’ Special” is an still an enjoyable short, even if it doesn’t make a lot of sense from an analytical standpoint.
Also, speaking of Buttercup, while the Powerpuff Girls Z anime series wasn’t great, or even good, Buttercup did have a nice design on that show, so there’s that.
Toons & Tunes: Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers Intro
This week, the Nostalgia Critic (Doug Walker) made a Top 11 list of his favorite TV show openings. One opening that I’ve always liked that Doug didn’t mention was this one; the opening theme to The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, an animated space Western series created by Robert Mandell and the Gaylord Entertainment company that ran in syndication between 1986 and 1989. This series isn’t easy to find now, but the shows’ opening was very cool.
Don’t Turn Around!
Right now, you’re probably looking at the heading on this page and are now thinking…
“Must’ve taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque!”
Wait! Stop! Don’t leave! You haven’t clicked on to the wrong site! Allow me to explain…
Yes, we’ve recently changed the name of this site from The Twin Factor to Twinsanity. However, those of you who have been following us back when we were on Blogger already know that Twinsanity was the original name of the site (actually, it’s very first name was Astral City, but let’s not be anal). We felt that we had to change it since there’s already a twinsanity.blogspot.com, as well as a twinsanity.wordpress.com. In fact, one reason why we left Blogger in the first place is because we got tired of thinking of a name that we both liked and then discovering that said name was already taken. However, thanks to a wonderful invention known as “.co“, we found out that we could use the name Twinsanity if we wanted to, which we do. So we’ll be calling this site by the name Twinsanity from now on. Even if you click the previous URL, you’ll be redirected to the site with it’s current name, but do make a point to memorize the site’s current URL, though, because at the end of the year, the previous URL will expire and if you try to click it after that, it’ll just take you to an error screen. After December, twinsanity.co will be the only URL that will direct you to this site. Remember: it’s twinsanity.CO, not .COM.
This is the last time that we’ll change the site’s name. We promise.
